But disc brake 700c wheelset will be heavier than V-brake one.
Anybody have experience with 700c Disc wheels? I want to build up a set for my MTB for training on the road, what's the general concensus on clearance, do they fit, or does it depend on the fork/stays? The widest tire i'd be using would be a Cross tire, probably 35c.
Most common road bikes (including racing, touring and cyclocross) fit a 700c tire. "29er" mountain bikes also take that size rim.

After deciding that I want to scale down my bikes I have two a 29er really made up as a hybrid type bike and a hard tail MTB To be honest I just want one bike I would like to get a 26inch wheeled frame and have a set of 700c wheels and skinny tyres to stick on it when.
29ers or two-niners are mountain bikes and hybrid bikes that are built to use 700c or 622 mm ISO (inside rim diameter) wheels, commonly called 29" wheels. Most mountain bikes use ISO 559 mm wheels, commonly called 26" wheels.
I want to know if I could convert it to fixed/ single speed? Could I do this with regular 26 inch mtb wheels ? Also could i put 700c wheels on it? If not with the current fork could I change the fork and add them?
