There is now a way to do this using preferences. It's not very well documented but here is the chromium ticket that adds it.
Your sign-in got derailed. We're on it - sorry for the delay. Deleting browser history often fixes this. Click your browser's "Tools" menu to find this option and make sure to clear (delete) cookies!
