Dynamic hyperpolarized [1-13C]pyruvate metabolic imaging in the normal anesthetized rat brain is demonstrated on a clinical 3-T magnetic resonance imaging scanner. A 12-second bolus injection of hyperpolarized [1-13C]pyruvate is imaged at a 3-second temporal resolution.
